Tipton’s favourite event of the year was organised in the town hall. Everyone always looked forward to this as it was a charity event and everybody from Tipton always made sure they bought a ticket to the sit down meal which then was followed by an auction. Every year local firms gave great items to auction off. The local mayor was usually the auctioneer. The items up for auction varied from a wash and blow dry in the local hairdressers to a 3 course meal at a very high end restaurant. Crates of wine and a day at a spa were also items to raise money for charity.
Being Tipton’s favourite night of the local calendar for some a dress code of dinner jacket and black tie for the gents and evening gowns for the ladies made it such an exciting evening to get to go too. All the ladies loved this as you don’t get many occasions to dress this way. Everyone felt very special getting so dressed up and they all looked fantastic, it really added to the atmosphere for the evening. People were commenting on how everyone had made such an effort and looked fantastic and it looked like a dinner party at a royal occasion.
Hog Roast Tipton were the caterers who had done it on previous occasions with great success. For the starter homemade soup was chosen with a crusty bread roll. The main course considered of whole Spit Roasted turkey served with fresh cranberries and sage & onion stuffing along with warm new potatoes in herb butter and roasted new potatoes with fresh seasonal vegetables. Dessert was a choice of profiteroles smothered in chocolate sauce or our chef’s special sticky toffee pudding with a yummy toffee sauce.
Our chef’s cook the Hog Roast Tipton food to perfection and then our very own catering staff serve it to the tables where every course is welcomed by hungry guests. The meal was served on time giving plenty of time after our caterers had cleared everything away to start the auction. The evening raised thousands of pounds for a local charity.
